frost damaged potted hibiscus

Question

My ten year old potted hibiscus is more like a big bush now. Unfortunately although it was in full bloom still and probably had 100 blooms this year, the frost got it and all the leaves shrivelled but still hung on the branches. It was in an insulated summer house but I brought it into the house as soon as I saw how damaged it was. I have read it is best to wait until the Spring to see if it can recover but am still watering it and giving it babybio. Is this correct? There is green under the bark when it is scratched away. If I were you, I’d refrain from putting BabyBio or any other fertilizer (‘plant food’) until you’ve seen actual vigorous leaf growth and you’ve placed the plant in an area with adequate sunlight (or adequate artificial light). Fertilizer (especially too much fertilizer) either does no good or even kills a plant that is not currently leafing out and getting enough sunlight.
