Q.Fountain Grass Questions

Anonymous added on April 5, 2012 | Answered

I live in Zone 6 and I am looking for the right type of fountain grass to plant around two sides of my pool in a rock garden. I am looking for one that will grow to 2-3 feet tall (and wide), and preferably one that will not lose its seeds too early while my pool is still open. I don’t want the seeds and flowers to end up in my pool. Also, I would like a variety where the blades of grass aren’t too prickly, as kids will definitely run by it and touch it. Any suggestions?

Some good choices to consider here would be Mexican feather grass, broom sedge and Tall Tails fountain grass.
