Q.Forsythia Not Blooming
I have five forsythia bushes that are about 3 to 4 feet high. They have never been pruned. I have them planted (in a fenced in area) with about 12 blue spruce and 15 lilacs. The problem is that they only bloom on the branches that are near or on the ground. I have seen other bushes in my area that are in complete bloom at this time. This is the second year this has happened and I’m a little perplexed. Please help.

If you have not pruned any, it may be in need. Pruning can help rejuvenate the shrub and improve its overall health and blooming, as well as its appearance. You can do this now or wait unitl the few blooms you do have fade out. Add some phosphorus, such as bone meal, to the soil.
