Flowering

I have a question. For several years, our azaleas bloomed beautifully. However, last year they were hit with a frost that I didn’t get washed off, and they didn’t bloom. The azaleas did not flower for the most part. During the summer, the leaves returned and turned reddish like always. However, this spring the azaleas were green and normal looking, but only a portion of the plants bloomed. Will the azaleas over time regain their ability to bloom? Right now, they look like a shrub and are green and healthy but still do not bloom. Should I trim them back?

Yes, you can prune your shrubs back and they should come back next year just fine.
