Flower Bulbs

Is true to plant flower bulbs in the fall? I have bulbs for tulips, crocus, iris and alliums. Also, I have some elephant ear bulbs??? I think that’s what they are. Do I dig them up for the winter?

Hello,

Thank you for sending us your gardening question. Late Fall is the time for planting bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, alliums, and crocus. It is not necessary to dig and store these bulbs, although not all tulips are perennial. Iris and elephant ears should be planted in the late Spring. Depending on your planting zone, some elephant ears are perennial, and some tubers must be dug and stored.
