Q.Flies On Houseplants

I have lots of tiny flying insects both in the soil and in the area of most of my houseplants. Can you advise me, please? I have tried several natural deterrents including diluted Neem oil and washing liquid & vinegar to no avail. Thank you

They likely are fungus gnats, which are hard to get rid of as you know. Keeping your soil on the dry side is the best deterrent. This article has more control options:
