Q.Fire ants Queen Palm

Zone Central Florida | Retnav1979@aol.com added on October 5, 2015 | Answered

I have 2 queen palm trees and one is infested with fire ants. I looked around the tree for a mound but didn’t find any. I assume they made a home inside the tree. What should I use to get rid of the ants?

Thanks
Jim

Use ant traps, try to find traps that list Fire Ants. Place them around the Palm where you are seeing the ant activity. Don't water, as to get the ant traps wet. Continue this until you see the ants are gone.

You can use an ant spray for immediate ant control, but you need to kill the nest to get rid of the ants completely.
