Q.Figs Stopped Ripening

Anonymous added on August 7, 2011 | Answered

We have a fig tree that has an abundant amount of figs. We harvested some already, early this season. There are many figs left on the tree but they are not ripening. After we picked the ripe fruit, it seems like the tree went dormant. Any suggestions?

Fig trees stop ripening their fruit when they are stressed. It may be stressed due to the unusual heat we have been experiencing. Increase the water to the tree and this should help.
