Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comJackson, MS fig tree looks great, 2 yrs old, bearing lots of young figs; however, the figs only size about 1/2 way, then develop a hazy white coating from the stem neck down about 1/2 way through the thicker section of the fruit. Once the fruits develop the hazy look, they get very hard, then fall off. Leaves and roots have no apparent disease, nematodes or insects. The fig is planted within 5-6 feet of a 100 year of oak tree that fell in tornado 2 yrs ago. We had the stump ground very deeply and the area around it is very fertile. Any ideas of what may be causing the fruit to harden with this hazy look?? Thanks
