Figs From My Tree

This is the first year my young fig tree is producing fruit. There are a lot of figs, deep purple – but no matter how long I keep them on the tree, the outer skin is extremely hard and the inside isn’t ready. I had a fig tree in NY for many years and the fruit was always delicious.

With the heat and lack of rain, the tree may be stressed and if it is stressed, it will stop ripening its fruit. Try increasing water to the tree and that should help bring it out of its stressed state.
