Fig Trees

I have a large fig tree that carries a lot of fruit. The fruits appear to ripen and become soft to the touch, but they are not developed inside, dry and powdery. What causes this?

Dried fruit on the tree is normally caused by disease, which is introduced by the Dried Fruit Beetle. They crawl up into the fruit and bring disease. This article will help: http://extension.entm.purdue.edu/publications/E-229.pdf [1]
