Q.Fig Tree Planting

Anonymous added on June 7, 2015 | Answered

I am excited to grow a family fig tree. I had planted a branch from my grandparent’s original fig tree (40 years old) in a large pot last year. I am happy to say it has grown! I would like to plant it in the soil in my yard. Can you please explain to me all the details of how to do this and when (what time of year) I should do it? I was hoping to re-plant the small tree/branch within the next week. I live on the East Coast and have selected a corner in my yard that would get 80% sunlight. How large should the area be? Any advice and instructions you send me would be appreciated. Thank you.
