Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have 2 fig trees in my sunny kitchen. Both have produced buds and actual figs but the fruit never actually develops into a “fruit.” Rather, once opened, it looks like a flower or filaments inside. instead of fruit material. Do I need to manually cross polinate the trees? If so, I have never seen flowers prior to “fruit” production.

Fig flowers are actually in the fruit inside that little hole at the bottom of the fruit. It sounds like your fruit is not maturing or ripening. This can happen for a few reasons. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/figs-not-getting-ripe.htm [1]
