fig tree

Is it possible that the frost would have killed an established fig tree of 15 years or would there be some form of disease?

Frost alone would not have killed the tree, though it may have killed back the leaves. If you had a hard freeze though, and the tree was starting to leaf out and was already stressed, that may have killed it.

But, it is more likely that the tree died of a disease or possibly old age. Figs typically live about 20 years, give or take.
