fig tree

This year the fig tree does not have leaves on the upper half of the branches. Tree is about 10 ft. tall and 10 years old.

One strong possibility is that the severe winter had its effect on your fig. It can take two or three years for plants to recover from bad weather. You can prune off any dead branches now, and follow pruning instructions in the following years: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/pruning-fig-trees.htm [1]
