Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have layered a branch from my five year old fig tree and it has grown beautifully. When would I separate it from the original tree and how much of an area around it should I take in roots? I am sure the mother tree’s roots have spread out by now.

When you separate your fig layer, which you can do now,
make sure that the roots are well restricted.
