Fig Fruit Falls Before It Gets Ripe

Question

Fig tree fruit falls before it gets bigger than about 20mm in sections. Tree looks healthy, watered sufficiently but fruit does not get bigger than walnut size then falls off. Tree used to produce large very sweet fruit. Nothing has changed in the area it grows in. Can you advise?
