Q.Ficus Survival
came across 8′ ficus trees scheduled for the dump.i don’t have room for tall trees,so i cut them back to 3′. will they come back?i also root pruned them accordingly.i grow bonsai as a hobby,but have no experience with ficus trees. they are kept inside. thanks.

Ideally, no more than one-third of the tree should be cut at one time. Check yours to see if you cut right above a node. That is where the new growth will sprout and cover the stump. Here are pruning tips below that should help in the future.
