Ficus benjamina in direct sun for summer time

First of all, I asked this question already and someone answered with a very vague and generalized response. I honestly didn’t get anything from it. And I’ve read all the links on ficus trees on this site. So here it goes again haha.

Currently, my ficus is in a southern facing window receiving direct sunlight (obviously filtered through glass), and it’s doing well. See pic. When it warms up, probably not till at least late May, I’d like to put the tree outside. Since it receives full light, will its leaves turn white or is it already acclimated enough? My other option would be to put it on the back deck, on the north side of the house. However, there are tall trees about 30 feet away and the house on the other side, so that would definitely be very indirect light. Much less than it gets inside currently. What would be best for my tree? Thank you.

Now matter how much light indoors your plant is receiving, outdoor sunlight will be much stronger.

You will need to slowly acclimate your ficus to outdoor lighting for the spring and summer months.

I would start in the more indirect location, and then your could move it to a more direct sunlight.

Do remember though that ficus to not like to be moved. You may have some leaves dropping during this time.

Thank you! Who knows, maybe it’s just better being left inside in front of the southern facing window. It has a lot of new growth and has started really growing fast in the past 2 weeks.
