Q.Ficus benjamina grow light question
Have some small ficus that have rooted in water and are now in soil. They are budding and growing new leaves and I can see rapid root growth in their clear starter pots I’ve use.
I’m curious if the light I have will do anything to help. It’s a plant grow light and it has a 7800 kelvin temp. Seems a little high and emits a pinkish purple hue. I do know that both red and blue are what plants need (more so red if they flower, which mine obviously do not). Will this make a difference? The ficus are also receiving filtered sunlight from a southern window as well as the grow light.
Coolest part about the ficus clippings – when I was in Florida I cut them off a Ficus benjamina hedge that was growing outside. Ended up getting them back to Vermont in a water battle.
I like to use a full spectrum florescent bulb.
Don't forget to turn off the light for a rest each day.
I like 18 on and 6 off. You can use a timer.
