Q.Fewer Flowers On Viburnum And Dogwood
This year I’ve had far fewer flowers on doublefile vib. and kousa dogwood than I’ve had in past years. I have noticed more watersprouts (I’m not diligent about removing them.) Can that be the reason for fewer flowers? Otherwise trees look healthy.

Did you have a dry summer last year? Inadequate water can affect a dogwood's bloom. Also, if planted in the lawn, too much nitrogen from grass fertilizers will affect flowering. Too much nitrogen will affect your viburnum, too, as will improper pruning.
