Q.Few Flowers And Some Fruit But They Didn’t Develop

Zone Murrels inlet SC | Helpmecitrus added on May 26, 2024 | Answered

My Meyer lemon is about 4 yrs old I live in coastal South Carolina I took it from indoor to outdoor last year I left it out all winter covered when it got colder 2 days It looks beautiful over 6 feet tall it got a few flowers and some small fruit but all fell off It bloomed when I had it in my house and produced a couple of lemons. Right now doing nothing but growing. It is too big for me to bring in now. I have 5 citrus spikes around drip line. No bugs on it. Full sun all day Somewhat sandy soil .. we are in Murrels inlet sc Do I just let it grow? Does it need trimming ? Thank you for any help

This could be due to a lack of phosphorous and potassium, or too much nitrogen in the soil, or a pH issue. These are most common reason that citrus will fail to produce or fail to get mature fruits.
