For red tip photinias, feed them a balanced fertilizer and one that is aimed at acid-loving plants. An even fertilizer like 8-8-8 would be good. Fertilize once in spring and once in early fall. For the weigela, only an annual feeding is necessary. Give the shrub a regular, balanced plant food in late winter/early spring to promote more blooms.
