Q.Fertilizing miniature gardenias

Zone 8B | thom6992 added on May 14, 2015 | Answered

I have a fertilizer that is for acid loving plants. The fertilizer’s ingredients includes iron – the percentage is .325%. Is this enough for the Gardenias? Do I need to add iron? If so, I have some that is packaged as a spray using the hose. Do I need this supplement and is spraying the Gardenias ok?

You can use a fertilizer that is formulated for acid loving plants, but you may want to have a soil test preformed to insure the proper formulation.
Always follow the manufacturer's directions.

You can get a soil test kit from your local county extension office.
