An outdoor Gardenia should have a partial sun location.
A Gardenia should be either brought indoors for winter or if grown in zones 8-10 can winter over outdoors.

Fertilizing outdoor Ferns should occur in early spring. Ferns are sensitive to over fertilizing. Use a slow release fertilizer, 14-14-14. Organic complete fertilizers are good also.
Follow the application directions on the package.
