Female zucchini blossoms

I have a couple zucchini plants and they are growing great and the male blossoms are blooming regularly (they have been for weeks). However, the female blossoms are not growing much at all. They stay small, green and tight. They are not opening to get pollinated. Please let me know why this is happening. Thanks so much for your time!

This is usually due to poor pollination. Many times, a zucchini plant will produce only male blossoms when first in bloom to ensure that pollen will be available when the female blossoms open. The male blossoms will all fall off, making it seem as though the zucchini plant is losing all of its flowers. Don’t worry, female blossoms will open soon and you will get zucchini squash. If they seem to be having difficulty opening, humidity may be the cause of this. You can gently tear the female blossoms open (when they look to be a size they should open) and hand pollinate them.
