Female sago palm plant

I have two females separated by a male. The two females have blooms which have not opened for better than three months, and am starting to see strain on the plant. Is it advisable to assist the plant in the blooming by opening the top of the bloom physically?

Sago palms tend to be “slow” plants in many ways. Sometimes it seems they will take a break for several months, probably because of unknown environmental conditions. I think yours will open up their blooms when they determine it is the right time. The reproductive cycle is thought not to weaken sago palms:
