All perennials can be planted in fall as well as spring bulbs. Are you asking about flowers that bloom in fall? If you want fall flowers this year, you’ll need to purchase ones that are already in bud. Mums, pansies, Japanese anemone, and asters are widely available. Goldenrods, stonecrop, and Russian sage are also fall bloomers. Some summer bloomers will keep going until frost. A partial list is blanket flower (Gaillardia), coreopsis. shrub roses, and coneflowers. Some shrubs are covered in colorful berries in fall. Beautyberry and Viburnum trilobum are two of these.
