Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy pistachio tree’s leaves do not change colors in the fall. It currently has red berries on it. They are green in the spring/summer time frame. Does any of this mean it is male or female? Or – what does? does it have to be a certain age before the leaves change colors? The tree is only 5 years old.

For the leaves to change colors, it must be below a certain temperature. These red berries mean that it is a female tree. It sounds like what you have is the Chinese Pistache, which would not be edible. If you are in too warm of a climate, the leaves will not change.
