Q.Fairy Duster Plants…

Zone 90278 | GregMadden added on October 13, 2017 | Answered

I have two Fairy Duster plants, about 5 years old, on a west wall. One has grown great but the other has always been scraggly. They are around 8’ tall. The one growing great is at a corner so gets South sun.

The house was sprayed with Termidor when it was built and I always wondered if the soil is contaminated with the salt. But the roots should be lower by now…

It is possible that there are trace amounts left, but nothing enough to hurt a shrub such as this. It may be that you need to apply dolomitic lime to the area to bring the pH back to where it needs to be.
