Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHello i have an evergreen tree that was planted about 5 feet from my driveway. The tree is aprox 10-12 feet tall and there is a root with the top of it exposed about 2.5 inches across going under my driveway, Can i use my saw and cut the root so it doesn’t crack my driveway as it get bigger? Thank you

It is not advisable to sever tree roots. It could jeopardize the tree's stability. Can the sidewalk be moved? Here is more about cutting roots:
