Eucalyptus Tree Trimming

We have a thirty year old Eucalyptus tree that was here when we bought the house. It sheds bark in the spring, but this past week several LARGE branches have broken off and fallen to the ground. The wood does not appear to be diseased. Is it normal for an untrimmed Eucalyptus to just ‘shed’ large branches that are near its top? How do we trim these branches to avoid something terrible from happening? The branches that fell are about 20 feet off the ground, and there are several even LARGER branches, even HIGHER UP that will probably fall off soon. Please help.
