First of all, there are many, many kinds of eucalyptus trees. While in some places in the US they are considered invasive and a fire hazard, in their native habitat (Australia) they are valuable for pulp, lumber, oil, and other uses. They grow very fast, and have value as an ornamental if the correct varieties are used.
