Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have an Esperanza in a large pot outside. It froze before Christmas so I cut it back thinking it would come out this spring. To date, it has not shown any signs of life.
Did I do wrong, & will it come out later on?
Thanks,
Lil Maxwell

Esperanza can tolerate some cold, and die back when planted in the garden.
When you have the plants potted, they cannot take as cold of temperatures and the roots can suffer damage or die off.
You can store the pots in a warmer location during winter or wrap them with insulating blankets to protect the roots.
If you are not seeing any new growth your plant has likely died.
