Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a 5 year old Escallonia hedge that was nearly ruined by the last two bad winters. I’m in Zone 8. I had it pruned right down so that all the dead wood was removed. It is showing some green growth but a lot of yellow leaves also. Just wondering if it will come back at all or should I remove the whole thing. What about fertilizer and what kind? I usually fertilized it every spring once it warmed up but haven’t yet this year. I would hate to lose this hedge, as it is perfect for looks and privacy.

You may be on the outside edge of wintering over this hedge if you have all ready had winter die back.
It needs to be in a protected area.
Here is an article to refresh you on the care requirements.
