Empress Tree

I recently received a rooted Empress Tree starter. I planted it in a pot upon receipt, as we are still experiencing freezing temps outside. For a couple days the small plant looked great; however, the top has now wilted and fallen over. What could be the cause of this?

Check watering and make sure the soil is well draining.

There may have been some root death and part of the tree is not receiving water.
