elite zucchini squash

My zucchini squash gets to 3 inches and about 1 inch from the tip it is turning yellow. Why? I am getting some nice green 6- to 8-inch squash but some look like the tip is going to rot. Thank you for your help.

Sounds like you may have blossom end rot. Here is an article that will give you more information:
