Eating red cabbage plant that I found slugs on

Hi. I harvested some of my red cabbage plants today. I’ve noticed a lot of holes on the outer leaves for a month or so. Bought some garden spray and no luck. Today when I peeled back a few of the leaves I found a half dozen slugs. I tore off all the rest of the outer leaves that had holes and washed the cabbage head. There is still a really good sized head left, but I’m wondering if it’s still safe to eat? Any advice appreciated! Thanks,Jacqui

Yes, I would wash the cabbage and then you are safe to eat it.
Here is a link with information on Cabbageworm.
