Q.eaten plants

Zone Poway CA, 92064 | grammadot added on January 16, 2018 | Answered

The growth heart of my cabbage seedlings are eaten off to the stem. Outer leaves are untouched. Bed is surrounded by rabbit fencing. Is it rodent or insect? Ruled out caterpillars. Set rat traps, undisturbed.

Can you include pictures? I'm likely to say insect, or maybe even infection. Is there any other symptom such as coloration, or anything else? There is also a possibility of birds, if the top is exposed.
