If the eastern redbud is planted within 12-18 inches of a sidewalk will the root system eventually disrupt the sidewalk?

Redbud Trees have a tap root and then a shallow root system, they are not considered invasive.

A smaller tree, that will be less then 30 feet, is recommended to be planted 3 feet from the pavement.

Yours is planted rather tight to the concrete.
