Early sprouting Daffodils?

I live in Massachusetts. We don’t stop getting frost until May. My daffodils usually sprout in April. It is only February and they have already sprouted! I don’t want the frost to kill them. Should I cover them with something? Thanks for your help!

This is a common occurrence with the excessively warm weather some regions have been getting this year. Mulching can help, as described in this article:

You can also cover them with upside-down buckets if you know a frosty night is coming.
