Q.dying fruit on plum tree

Zone Nova Scotia zone 6, I think | bmack added on July 15, 2015 | Answered

When the fruit is developing, it starts to turn brown on the end and then shrinks up and dies. The tree blossoms and looks healthy, but as the fruit comes this is what happens. Please help.

It could be plum tree aphids (look for pale greenish insects inside curled leaves) or peach tree borer, which also affects plum trees and other fruit (look for sawdust-like residue). Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/plum/control-leaf-curl-plum-aphids.htm
