Q.Driveway Landscaping

I am interested in landscaping my driveway that must be maintenance free.
The driveway is shady on both sides and plan to have it re-mulched June 1, 2018.
I think I need annuals that will look pretty until fall.
Then a colorful perennial ground cover to be started in the fall.
Please anything you can do to help me make it look pretty.
