Q.Dracena Compacta With Brown Leaf Tips

Anonymous added on March 3, 2022 | Answered

Hi I have a Dracena Compacta with brown/ yellow leaf tips. Haven’t watered for almost 3 wks but soil still feels damp. (including 1 inch down) Also lots of millipedes in soil. I mist it everyday and new growth doesn’t look bad. It had been near a radiator for a while a couple of weeks ago. Pot has holes and is sat on pebbles in a tray. Leaves extremely ‘crispy’ Can you help with possible cause – I’m guessing under or over watering?

I am concerned about over watering if the soil is still damp after three weeks. Are there enough pebbles in the tray that the pot is elevated enough to avoid absorbing the water in the pebble tray? The scorched leaves also could be from fluoride toxicity or too much fertilizer buildup. I also would consider repotting in fresh potting soil. Millipedes sometimes eat plant roots.
