Double growth

When my sago bloomed last year and was finished, I twisted off the top and when it grew back, it split into two new growths. Do I need to remove one of them? How do I do this? I’ve never seen this before.

It is not a good idea to prune multi-headed sagos. Cutting into the flesh could kill them as they do not “heal” over to prevent insects, bacteria or fungal spores from entering.

What you have is a very unique occurrence that gives your plant a lot of character and makes it a great conversation piece!
