Q.Dogwood’s leaves drop

Anonymous added on July 25, 2015 | Answered

My dogwood, two years old, suddenly drops green leaves during hot summer. Some new leaves start to come out. Is it normal or the tree needs special care? Thank you.

This is not normal. It could be one of two things. The first is that the tree may not be getting enough water. It should be getting at least 2" of water a week. The second is that it has a fungus that kills the leaves. Treat the tree with a fungicide, just as a precaution.
