Hello I am wanting help to grow roots on my fallen Dogwoood tree. 3 years old about 3 inch diameter. My teen gardener cut down wrong tree.This is a sentimental Dogwood represents a family member. Soooo I have taken the entire tree and put root hormone on it and placed it in peat moss and vermiculite. But is there anyway to attach the tree to the old roots prop it up and heal the wound so the tree can continue to regrow. I will try anything but just don’t tell me impossible.

If there is still a stump, you may be able to reattach the cut part to the stump. If there are still good stems, you can always grow a tree from a cutting, which is probably your best bet. Here is more:
