male and female kiwi

Does the male kiwi fruit have blooms and fruit as well as the female? When a male and female kiwi fruit vine are planted together, will they both bear fruit, and do you have to same brand name for each kiwi?

Also, reputable nurseries and garden centers should have their plants labeled as male or female.
