Q.Do You Know What This White, very Sticky, Substance Is?
I have no idea what this tree is. There are many along the lake bank. This one provides shade to the deck but every year just after the leaves come, they begin to shrivel and curl. Eventually a month or so later that stops. This year there is a very sticky white substance dropping off and has just covered the deck. Almost as if it is snowing! I’ll need to power wash everything before we can sit outside. I think it is some kind of critter eggs. What do you think I am dealing with?

If you tried to send us a photo, unfortunately, it did not come through. It sounds as though there may be some kind of infestation, but it would be impossible to diagnose without seeing the tree. You should definitely contact either a certified arborist or your local university extension service for help with this.
