Do you deadhead spent flowers?

I’m a first-time fuchsia owner and am not sure how to treat flowers past their prime. Pods begin to develop once the flower drops off, and I’m not sure if the development of these pods takes strength from the overall health of the plant. Thanks for your help!

We live in Winchester, Virginia (the top of the state), so we experience rather large temperature shifts … cool in the evenings and hot during the day.

Yes – it is good to deadhead fuchsias so that more of its energy is diverted to producing blooms versus seeds. It also helps keep the plant more neat and tidy looking.
